Film as poetry. In spite of being out of favor in Japan and suicide attempts (over the failure of Do des ka den), the genius of Kurosawa found it's way to Russia (the best thing communism ever did) to create yet another intimate epic.

My second favorite Kurosawa flick, after Seven Samurai. I love this movie too.
