Hello all. TIME magazine has recently published their list of their top 100 films of all time- Two Kurosawa movies made the cut... "Ikiru" and "Yojimbo". I was kinda surprised that "Yojimbo" made it as opposed to, say... "Seven Samurai", "Ran", "Kagemusha" or "Rashomon". Thoughts?

Re: Kurosawa films on TIME's best films list.
Fri, May 27, 2005 - 2:16 AMThe Time list is being ridiculed elsewhere on the net, and rightly so... (they've got the 1986 remake of The Fly on there fer chrissake)...
My own comment on another forum was almost exactly the same as yours.

Sun, May 29, 2005 - 8:12 PMThanks for the link, hadn't heard about the list. Seven Sams being my all time fav., of course I'm shocked at it's omission. Yojimbo is great but come on! Kagemusha, RAN, The Hidden Fortress, Rashomon, all would be preferable. But then again these guys also picked The Purple Rose of Cairo over say, Annie Hall or Manhatten!? Go figure.
